The Awaken series is a collection where I wanted to expand our vision of the beauty of nature simplified.  Just the leaves close up.  There is so much wonderful detail that we could miss if we don't look closely at a leaf.  

These beautiful images are eco-prints that were created by transferring the image and texture of the plant material to paper.  The process includes sandwiching the plant material between layers of natural fibers and then boiling or steaming them in a dye bath. As you study the beauty of the color and texture in the petals and leaves, notice how the colors swirl with the paper and the tannin in the plant material.  This fluid process can sometimes fool you into thinking they are watercolors. 

The finished original is approximately 6" x 6" and has been scanned in at a high resolution and printed on high-quality watercolor paper.  These images can be transformed into large-scale prints, wallpapers, window film, and textiles.
