This beautiful image is achieved with the eco dye printing process where the texture of the plant material is transferred to paper or fabric. Natural colors evolve based on the ingredients in the dye bath and their effects on the tannin in the plant material. The process includes sandwiching the plant material between layers of natural fibers and then boiling or steaming them. As you study the beauty of the color and texture in the petals and leaves, notice how the colors swirl with the paper and the tannin in the plant material. This fluid process can sometimes fool you into thinking they are watercolors.
