The Journey Behind My New Eco-Print Art Collection

An Artistic Journey

Traveling the winding roads of New Mexico and Utah was an adventure, an opportunity to connect deeply with nature. The landscapes were so captivating that I often found myself pulling over just to take in the stunning views. Each stop offered the chance to gather new materials—leaves and plants that would become the heart of my eco-printed creations.

The Art of Eco-Printing

Eco-printing is a form of art where nature itself leaves a mark on fabric or paper through close physical contact. By arranging plant materials on fabric and applying specific environmental techniques, the natural pigments and tannins are transferred, creating beautiful, organic patterns.

What excited me most was working with native plants in their environment. Each plant has its own story, and being able to create prints under their natural environmental conditions added a unique and authentic touch to my work.  Using my Eco Print Road Trip Kit to create these beautiful prints on this "Wild West Tour" was a lot of fun.

Discovering Resilience and Beauty

As I explored these terrains, I became fascinated by the resilience of the flora here. Many plants contained varying levels of tannin, essential for withstanding extreme weather conditions. Their toughness was matched only by the striking prints they left behind—a vivid representation of their spirit and adaptability.

A Personal Invitation

This collection is more than just an artistic venture; it is a narrative of the natural beauty and resilience of the southwestern landscape. It invites you not only to appreciate its aesthetic value but to explore and connect with the stories of strength and survival that these plant prints represent.

I hope you'll find as much joy and inspiration in this collection as I experienced creating it. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these works influenced by the raw beauty of New Mexico and Utah.
