Experience Eco Print Magic in my Workshop

It's incredibly fulfilling to share the magic of eco printing in my workshops. I truly enjoy meeting new friends and spending creative time together. It's a chance to introduce the ancient art of eco printing and show how this simple craft can be uplifting by connecting us with nature.

This beautiful method of eco printing allows us to imprint the beauty of nature onto paper and fabric.  The process involves layering fiber with botanical materials, bundling tightly, and steaming or boiling to release the image.  Whether you're a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, eco printing opens the gateway to a magical fusion of nature and creativity.

My journey into eco printing started with a simple experiment similar to a backyard science project. What began with an electric skillet, some paper and a couple of ceramic tiles has blossomed into passion for creating intricate, natural and intriguing botanical art designs from my eco printed images. It is that appreciation for the art that I thrive to instill in my workshop.

We begin with an appreciation for the botanicals that surround us here in Knoxville, Tennessee.  We have an abundant variety of trees who's leaves are perfect for eco printing. I share my favorites leaves and ones that provide the best results as well as my zest for collecting and storing them.

We experiment with eco printing on paper to create botanical art with ceramic tiles and transition into eco printing on silk with vibrant colors.  It is a beautiful contrast for my students as they bring out the natural colors of the leaves on paper and experience the fun creating images on silk with color.

My students learn the importance of layering and bundling and how it can effect the outcome as well as best practices for processing the bundles to allow nature to do her magic.

One of the most enchanting parts of my workshop is the unbundling - the big reveal.  The sense of wonder and surprise never fades and I enjoy witnessing firsthand the delight of my students when they see their beautiful botanical art they created with leaves.

My eco print workshops are more than just a learning experience, they are a celebration of nature, art, friendship, and creativity.  I invite you to join me in this creative journey where we translate the beaty of the outdoors into lasting fiber art.  Whether you are looking to explore a new hobby, or simply want to immerse yourself in a day of creativity and connection, my workshops offer something special for everyone.
